Woodworker Plans

My woodworking skills combined with the right set of woodworker plans have contributed to a very enjoyable hobby over the years.  Woodworking can be an incredibly satisfying and enjoyable pursuit whether you’re a hobbyist, or a professional.  There is something magical about taking a raw piece of wood, and making something useful out of it.  It provides a great feeling of accomplishment especially when the project is for someone you care about.

Woodworker Plans I remember starting on a swan rocking chair a few years back when my daughters were still little.  I was going to surprise them with these great rocking chairs that they would never forget – so I thought.

Most of the pieces are still in my garage to this day.  The problem?  I ran into a snag with the design.  You see, I checked out a book from my local library that had several free woodworker plans, and I got stuck due to a lack of details in the plan.

At the time I didn’t have the skill or experience to compensate for the lack of information.  I got so frustrated, I just gave up on it and now, I missed my window for building those rocking chairs for my little girls.  Oh well, maybe I’ll finish them for grand kids someday.

Good plans for any project are essential this is particularly true for those who have intermediate to beginner woodworking skills.  The more experience you have the less dependent you are on a plan to follow.  How many of you have experienced the same thing I mentioned above due to poorly written, illustrated, or just flat out wrong instructions?  I’m guessing a few of you.

Without a good set of plans, you might as well drive down the road and throw your hard earned money out the window as you go.  Wood is expensive these days, especially hard wood, and you want to limit your potential for mistakes as much as possible which brings me to the point of how to go about finding reliable woodworker plans.

First off, let me say that FREE is not always better, especially when it pertains to woodworking plans.  The old adage “You pay for what you get” applies here.  I’ve seen some decent free woodworking project plans for simple projects, and if that’s the route you’re taking, you’ll probably be fine, but for more complex wood projects, you’d be better off spending the money on a good set of plans.

I myself have invested in a woodworking project library; at least, that’s what I call it.  I’ve got access to more woodworking plans than I could ever hope to use.  I mean that seriously and that’s no exaggeration!  If you’re a professional woodworker, or a serious woodworking hobbyist, you owe it to yourself to click on the link below and check out the assortment of plans in this wood project library I’m talking about.

The site is Teds Woodworking. This site provides all the woodworking project plans you could ever want for one flat fee.  Most plans I’ve paid for in the past have cost me about $10.00 to $16.00 on average.  That adds up over time.  For a low one-time membership payment, you can get instant access to over 16,000 easy to read, easy to follow, and detailed woodworking projects.  That’s a whole lot of woodworking my friend!

Every plan comes with step-by-step instructions, and comprehensive illustrations that will help you navigate through the project from start to finish.  Talk about variety.  Some of my favorite project plans are the bookcase plans, dog house plans, garden related plans, bird house plans (I love working on bird houses with my youngest daughter), wishing well plans, and wood toy plans just to mention a few.  There’s a project for every woodworker out there.

As a beginner, you might be thinking, “But what if I have little to no woodworking experience?”  It doesn’t matter what level your skill is at; there are basic woodworker plans that even a child could do, and with so many plans to choose from, as your woodworking skills increase and develop, you’ll always have a new and more challenging project to choose from.

Ted “Woody” Mcgrath is a Professional Woodworker and has put this collection of woodworking plans together.  Like many of us, he was annoyed both by the lack of plans available as well as the poor quality of those plans themselves.  He found that a lot of them were poorly explained, and had unclear diagrams.  Ted decided to do something about it, and created his own library of wood project plans.

Now, what about you?  Are you looking for furniture plans?  Maybe you need a good set of plans for a coffee table, or how about loft bed plans.  What about outdoor projects? Yea, there are project plans for Decks, Patio Furniture, Gazebos, Planter Boxes, and the list goes on and on!  I’m confident in saying that there is literally a plan for any and every kind of woodworking project you could think of.

So if you’ve got any sort of interest whatsoever in woodworking, I strongly urge you to go to Teds Woodworking and instantly download the only set of woodworking plans you’ll ever need.

I also want to thank you for visiting my site; I hope you’ve found the information on woodworker plans helpful.  It’s a great pleasure to serve other like-minded individuals with this website that have a heart for woodworking.  Please make sure to visit again.
